15 August 2023:
Cam Campbell has already worked on four big projects in four regions …. and he’s only just finished his civil carpentry apprenticeship.
Perhaps not surprisingly, then, ConcreteNZ gave Cam a Highly Commended in the apprenticeship category of their 2023 national awards earlier this month.
Cam’s apprenticeship began on Fonterra’s Whareroa WTP, and he’s shown here (on the far right) with Fulton Hogan’s Whareroa team.
Since beginning his Civil carpentry apprenticeship in 2021, Taranaki-based Cam has also worked in Manawatu (prefabricated building on Ohakea Airbase), Waikato (Fonterra WTP) and Nelson (the SH6 rebuild and the Waimea Community Dam).
Since qualifying, Cam has already run his first project – a timber retaining wall for Waka Kotahi.
“Cam’s work ethic, professionalism and willingness to learn is adding so much to our team, and he has a lot to offer the civil construction industry in future,” says Fulton Hogan’s Taranaki Regional Manager, Courtney Pratt.
