It has been a busy year for Fulton Hogan looking after seven airfields for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
Airport runway maintenance and construction across Australasia
“We have successfully undertaken AU$6.7M of works at RAAF Darwin, RAAF Tindal (Katherine), RAAF Pearce (Perth), RAAF Gin Gin (Perth), RAAF Edinburgh (Adelaide), RAAF Learmonth (Exmouth) and RAAF Curtin (Derby),” said Airports Project Manager Richard Mihell.
Drawing on Fulton Hogan’s extensive experience in airport runway maintenance and construction across Australasia, we are providing a whole-of-life pavement management service to the RAAF. The work includes asphalt patching, crack sealing, seal coating, rubber removal, concrete repairs, line marking, drainage and minor civil construction.
“Our focus is on working with our customers to deliver a quality long-term solution that will maximise productivity in a cost-effective manner,” said Richard.
“We also understand that defence airfields don’t have the luxury of closing down so our teams work closely with the RAAF to ensure optimum service levels,” said Richard.
Richard says part of the reason for a successful year is Fulton Hogan’s capacity to quickly mobilise its people and fleet of modern equipment across Australasia.
“Coordinating work, often at remote sites and involving multiple trades, requires significant planning and logistics as well as the technical ability to carry out the works,” he said.
“Fulton Hogan’s widespread geographical footprint allows us to mobilise quickly to deliver outstanding outcomes.” said Richard
