The Waterways Alliance – Wetlands/irrigation/floodways
The Waterways Alliance formed between Fulton Hogan, Melbourne Water, Ecodynamics, and SMEC to deliver a multi-million-dollar program of new and upgraded waterway and wetland capital works.
Projects and allocations that made up the Waterways Alliance Program were derived from Melbourne Water’s strategic objectives for waterways and stormwater quality with the long-term goal of ensuring that Melbourne’s rivers and creeks are healthy, with increased numbers of native fish, platypus and plant life. Over 180 projects ranging in size and complexity, were delivered to meet the overall objective for waterways and stormwater quality services to improve and protect the health of the rivers, creeks and bays, and enhance their environmental, economic and social values.
Fulton Hogan was the Head Contractor responsible for the full scope of Alliance works however the Alliance conducted its business collaboratively, with all parties working together to achieve optimum results.
