Hunua 4
Fulton Hogan, in a joint venture with John Holland, constructed the majority of Hunua 4, the biggest water pipeline project in New Zealand’s recent history.
We laid 25 kilometres of steel pipeline along a route that crossed the Manukau Harbour, as well as motorways, railway lines and several suburbs. A heavy focus was put on engaging with the community and stakeholders due to the large nature of the project and the potential for disruption.
Upon completion, Hunua 4 will be a 32 kilometre water main running through Auckland to cater for future population growth.
The pipeline will carry 250,000m³ of water a day and run from Redoubt Road in Manukau to Khyber Pass in Auckland, connecting to the existing local water supply network along the way.
