New Plymouth Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade
Fulton Hogan used cutting-edge technology when appointed to carry out a recent stage of the New Plymouth Wastewater Treatment plant upgrade. We had previously completed the aeration and sludge thickening upgrades on this project.
Virtual reality was used to provide the project team with a better understanding of the scale of the new inlet works and sludge handling facility. Visualising the project in advance was important because the mechanical fit out and installation of new equipment had to be done while the existing site remained operational.
A 3D model of the printed structures was used as a planning tool, allowing workers to visual what needed completion within different timeframes and discuss technical issues.
