Riccarton Road upgrade
Upgrade of a section of Riccarton Road – one of Christchurch’s busiest road corridors. This project involved the replacement of more than 3400 metres of watermain, wastewater and stormwater piping, resurfacing 8000 square metres of pavement and installing new streetscaping.
This challenging project included more than 1000 metres of wastewater pipes replacement at four metres, while ensuring two-way traffic is maintained and minimum disruption to our stakeholders.
Our design construction focused on minimising project duration for businesses and residents, by setting up three separate work sites along the 800 metre road length with additional resource on standby.
This work followed on from the award-winning resurfacing work in November 2018 where we sealed a section of Riccarton Road in just four weeks to reduce impact on surrounding businesses.
