The Riverine Recovery Project (RRP) forms part of the South Australian Riverland Floodplains Integrated Infrastructure Program (SARFIIP), a Commonwealth funded program to restore the health of the floodplains at Pike, Katarapko and the Riverland region. It is managed by the Department of Environment and Water in partnership with SA Water.

Many years of water over-allocation and river regulation have meant a decline in the health of the River Murray. Fulton Hogan was appointed to construct structures that will help improve the health and resilience of the River Murray’s inland wetlands and floodplains. For RRP Fulton Hogan provide regulating structures, enlarged crossing structures, banks and channel works across 13 River Murray sites stretching from Renmark to Mannum in South Australia. Works are designed to improve the ecological condition of floodplain wetlands along the River Murray by reintroducing water level variation, which may include wetting and drying cycles and improving flow through.
