White Rock Wind Farm

Fulton Hogan worked with Goldwind to deliver a 175MW project near Glen Innes in the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales – a first for the business in this expanding area of the energy market.

The project was the first stage of the White Rock Wind Farm that required the installation of 70 turbines along with the related civil and electrical infrastructure.

Fulton Hogan’s contract included construction of concrete foundations to support the giant 90 metre high turbines and rolling out the access roads to the vast turbine network. It was also responsible for all the electrical reticulation works to bring the power from the turbines to the substation.

“People see the turbines, not what’s under the ground … but the foundation and electrical work is critical to the end project success and that’s what our team delivered,” said Eugene Cheah, General Manager Business Development – Construction.

The wind farm is now delivering clean renewable electricity to 75,000 homes.
